Accessibility Statement

Last updated: May 6, 2025

Our Commitment

JSDC Wheels is committed to making this website accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We work to ensure our site meets or exceeds the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA as the standard for our web presence.

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We continually review and improve our website to reduce barriers and improve the experience for all visitors.

AODA Compliance

As an Ontario business, JSDC Wheels is subject to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR). We are committed to:

  • Providing accessible customer service
  • Making our digital communications accessible
  • Offering information in accessible formats upon request
  • Ensuring our website meets WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards

Accessibility Features

The following accessibility features are implemented on this website:

Semantic HTML Structure

Pages use proper HTML5 semantic elements (header, main, nav, footer, section) to convey document structure to assistive technologies.

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements — links, buttons, form fields, and search controls — are reachable and operable using keyboard navigation alone. Focus states are visually indicated throughout the site.

Screen Reader Support

Interactive components include descriptive ARIA labels, roles, and states. Product cards, search results, and navigation elements are labeled to provide context to screen reader users beyond what is visually apparent.

Skip Navigation

A skip-to-main-content link is available at the top of each page, allowing keyboard and screen reader users to bypass the navigation header and jump directly to the main content.

Color Contrast

Text and interactive elements are designed to meet WCAG 2.0 AA contrast ratio requirements (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text). Information is not conveyed by color alone.

Responsive Design

The website is fully responsive and works across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Content reflows at all viewport sizes without horizontal scrolling. Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.

Image Alternatives

Product images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images use empty alt attributes so screen readers skip them appropriately. Where product images are unavailable, meaningful placeholder graphics with text descriptions are shown.

Form Accessibility

All form inputs have associated labels. Required fields are clearly indicated. Error messages are descriptive and programmatically associated with their inputs.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.0 Level AA conformance, some areas are works in progress:

  • The vehicle visualizer (third-party rendered images from IMAGIN.studio) may have limited accessibility for non-visual users. We provide vehicle specifications as text alongside the visualizer.
  • Some dynamic search interactions may not announce results immediately to all screen reader software. We are reviewing these components for improvement.

Alternative Formats

If you need product information, pricing details, or any content from this website in an alternative format (such as large print, plain text, or another accessible format), please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request promptly.

Feedback and Contact

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you encounter any barriers, have difficulty accessing any content, or would like to request an accommodation or alternative format, please contact us:

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is not a one-time task. We conduct periodic reviews of our website against WCAG 2.0 Level AA criteria and address identified issues as part of our regular development cycle. Our commitment to accessibility is ongoing and we welcome reports from users who encounter barriers.

This statement was prepared on May 6, 2025 and will be reviewed annually or when significant changes are made to the website.
